Restorative Dental Services

Restorative Dental Services can help if you have severely damaged, or missing teeth, or are looking for a total smile makeover with porcelain veneers.

What is a Prosthodontist?

The term “prostho” means substitute and “dontist” means related to teeth. Basically, prosthodontists are THE accepted experts when something inside in your mouth needs a replacement. This can be a single tooth, several teeth, or all the teeth and gums in your mouth! While there are certain dentists that may specialize in some or all of these treatments, prosthodontists are the real experts of this type of treatment. Prosthodontists skillfully restore and replace teeth. They have undergone a rigorous training of 3 additional years after graduating from dental school. Prosthodontists are also referred to as the “quarterbacks” of the dental treatment procedure. They often lead core teams of general dentists, consultants, and other health experts to come up with the right solutions for your dental needs.

When should you seek the services of a Prosthodontist?

•    When you are missing one or several teeth.
•    When you are looking for dental implants.
•    When you are interested in dentures or removable partial dentures.
•    When you wish to enhance the esthetics of your smile.

Caps or Crowns

Dental-CrownsCver or “cap” a tooth in order to restore the regular function and look of the tooth. Crowns are usually made as all metal, porcelain fused to metal, or all-ceramic (porcelain). Crowns are generally meant for teeth with very big fillings, teeth with a root canal, cracked teeth, damaged and misshapen teeth and/or stained teeth.

Bridges

A stable bridge technique has been implemented with great success for many years. Teeth on both sides of the missing space are prepared for a crown. A false tooth is attached to the crowns, and the whole bridge is joined with the prepared teeth. The patient cannot lose the bridge, and effective aids are also available to ensure its cleanliness. If applied correctly, a fixed bridge can be a great practical alternative to a dental implant.

Dental Implants

Dental-Implant-ModelDental implants are small metal cylinders made of titanium that are surgically located in the jawbone where teeth are missing. Implants are a substitute for the roots of missing teeth. They support single crowns, large bridges and dentures. Our advanced technology makes it possible for dental implants to give you the impression of natural teeth both in terms of feel and function. There are various types of dental implants and numerous ways of using dental implants to get the pleasant smile and good chewing function that you’ve always desired. Visit our Prosthodontist to learn more about how dental implants can improve your lifestyle.

Dentures

DenturesDentures are detachable replacements for missing teeth. Complete dentures can replace all the teeth in your mouth while removable partial dentures only replace some teeth. By matching each person’s distinctive smile and bite, dentures can radically improve facial appearance and confidence level. Dentures may also go a long way in correcting speech defects caused by missing teeth and significantly improving one’s chewing experience.

Implant Dentures

From a fixed denture to a removable implant denture, implants can give you the retention, comfort, and fit that a regular denture cannot provide

Partials

A removable appliance that replaces several missing teeth.

Implant Partials

Eliminate metal clasp arms when you add implants to help retain your partial denture.

Porcelain Veneers

These are used to change the shape and color of your teeth. Veneers are very thin shells of porcelain that are etched and then fixed to the enamel of the teeth. A small part of the tooth structure has to be removed to make space for the porcelain veneer and to prevent the tooth from appearing too big and bulky. The tooth preparation is restricted to the enamel and typically involves just a few surfaces of the tooth, unlike a crown or cap. A prosthodontist applies porcelain veneers to enhance the look of your teeth and also to close the visible gaps between your teeth. Attaching a porcelain layer or composite (tooth colored) layer to the front surfaces of your teeth can significantly improve the shape and color of your teeth.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Before-and-after-of-a-incisive-tooth-restoration-treatmentPatients with serious dental problems are advised to opt for a full mouth reconstruction. As the name itself suggests, full mouth reconstruction is the procedure of rebuilding all of the teeth inside a patient’s mouth. Our full mouth reconstructions blend esthetics with the knowledge of restorative dentistry to enhance the overall health and function of your teeth and the beauty of your smile. Crowns (caps), dental bridges, dental veneers and/or dental implants may be utilized in a full mouth reconstruction. In a number of patients orthodontic procedures may also be implemented to ensure the proper positioning of the jaw and alignment of the teeth.
